TSUNAMI ALERT LEVEL 1; Stand-by for Possible Evacuation Coastal areas fronting the Pacific Ocean of the following provinces should keep watch: Batanes Group of Islands, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Isabela, Quezon, Aurora, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Catanduanes, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte

Philippines Tsunami Warning

The Pacific Tsumani Warning Center issued a tsunami alert following
the 7.9-magnitude quake that hit Japan few minutes ago.

The incident prompted the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and
Seismology to issue tsunami alert level 1 in the provinces in the
eastern coastlines of the country.

The warning included the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte,
Ilocos Sur, Quezon, Isabela, Aurora, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte,
Sorsogon, Albay, Catanduanes, Samar, Leyte, Surigao del Norte, Surigao
del Sur, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.

"Di pa naman tayo nag-implement ng evacuation on the affected areas,"
said Philvolcs Director Renato Solidum.

"Maghintay lang tayo ng karagdagang information," he added.

I wud like to recommend to Mayor & Congressman Radaza & d Lapulapu City officials to visit d town of Ginatilan, Cebu. This is a 5th class Municipality, 136 kms south of Cebu City. The town is like a very big subdivision, all roads are cemented with canal drainage on each side of d cemented roads. The farm-to-market roads r asphalted. Limpyo kaayo tan-awon ang lungsod nga maayo ug karsada ug drainage. Unlike Lapulapu City, this 5th Class Municipality of Ginatilan is well-managed by d town administrators. Maayo nga ila ning bisitahon ug ilang suhiron, kai mauwaw ta sa mga inner roads sa lapulapu city nga daghang libaong ug walay drainage..
